MiULiiR By Sohei Nakanishi

Moveable walls add a touch of the surreal to Sohei Nakanishi’s hair salon, called MiULiiR, in Tokyo.

A glass façade resembling classical wooden doors leads you into MiULiiR, a hair salon in Tokyo designed by Sohei Nakanishi. The designer ‘purposely blended odd elements to make the hair salon both stylish and poetic’.

The monochromatic interior is ‘like a black and white dream’, says Nakanishi, who views the reflections in the mirrors and windows – and perhaps a radical hair dye – as the introduction of colour in the otherwise neutral space. All of the walls are moveable, allowing various configurations of the room, including a potential exhibition space.
